Expenses – How much will your studies cost
Your expenses can be divided in two groups:
- Direct expenses including tuition fees and other study-related payments (examination re-sits, ECDL certificate, etc.) and learning materials (books, magazines, entrance fees, library fees, stationery, etc.).
- Indirect expenses including everything related to living in Prague, that is living and travel expense, meals, communication and other expenses.
The following chart gives you a general idea about estimate costs of living in Prague so that you can plan ahead (i.e. how much money to bring, whether to take a loan, a part-time or a full time job)
The costs included in the chart are provided for guidance only, particular product qualities should be taken into consideration (i.e. a vegetarian meal costs less than a beef steak), as well as the place of purchase (the Prague centre, other Prague districts, suburbs) or a time of year (the prices are usually higher in high season, that is summer and Christmas time).

Please note:
- Accommodation: You can save on a monthly rent by sharing a flat. Please remember you will also have to pay for utilities (electricity, gas, lift, water, etc.) and sometimes you may be required to pay a deposit of 1 to 3 months’ rent.
